Gladiformers

Synopsis

On a distant world, a mechanical colosseum opens its gates to an unusual roster: transforming robots, taken or drafted to battle before a crowd that comes for the wreckage. Every bout is fought to destruction, and only one competitor walks out of the sand. This Brazilian animated feature follows the metal gladiators as they begin to wonder who profits from the spectacle and what they are truly fighting for. Modest in craft, generous in arena spectacle, transformations and unembarrassed affection for the genre.
