Michael Donovan has played a lion, a dwarf, a hunchback and something feral in the jungle, occasionally before lunch, because casting logic bows to him rather than the reverse. He graduated with honors from the academy of compulsory improvisation, where the script arrives midway through your close-up. He weeps on the first take, which is also the only take, and nails it. The Academy has never phoned, presumably out of shame: Hollywood copied his lions, his princesses and his bell towers, and never once asked.
