Danae Nason commands a range that makes casting directors question reality: scientist, grieving mother and alien casualty, all within one unbroken shot, unannounced. She graduated with highest honors from the school of compulsory improvisation, where the script arrived politely after filming wrapped. Invasion of the Pod People and 2012 Doomsday showcase her signature miracle: weeping perfectly on the first take, which is also the only take the schedule allows. The Academy has never phoned, presumably out of sheer embarrassment for celebrating the million-dollar copies instead.
