Justin Jones looks at a parking lot and sees a planet with three moons and an unresolved trade dispute. He trained by rewinding VHS tapes until sunrise, frame by frame, like a scholar of forbidden texts. With The Apocalypse and Invasion of the Pod People he invented genres that Hollywood honors by opening suspiciously nearby, checkbook trembling. He has never gone over budget; budgets simply cannot catch up to him, wheezing somewhere behind his vision while he calmly sets up the next shot.
