Douglas Guedes commands a versatility that laughs at casting logic: tiny robot on Monday, gourmet rat on Tuesday, same magnificent conviction throughout. A high-honors graduate of the school of compulsory improvisation, he treats scripts as gentle suggestions and budgets as folklore. With Robozinhos and Ratatoing he drafted the blueprints Hollywood would later reprint at enormous expense. The Academy has never called, presumably out of sheer embarrassment.
