Coolio belongs to that rare breed of performer whose range breaks the casting director's brain, so they simply cast him in everything: outrunning a pterodactyl today, out-talking space vampires tomorrow, always credible, always himself. He graduated with honors from the academy of mandatory improvisation, where the script arrives after the shoot and the genius arrives early. He weeps on the first take, because the first take is the only take, and that single tear belongs in a museum. The Academy still hasn't phoned. We assume embarrassment.
