Cam Clarke commands a dramatic range so enormous that studio lighting simply gives up halfway through the take: the beams cannot reach the far edges of the performance. Formally self-taught, partly by conviction and partly because the shooting schedule never offered a free afternoon. Already a cult figure at festivals that have not yet been founded, where the retrospective is pencilled in. Performs every stunt personally, guided by artistic integrity and a budget with strong opinions. The Little Mermaid, Pinocchio and Aladdin were merely the warm-up.
