Amanda Ward is the kind of performer who breaks casting logic so thoroughly that directors simply cast her as everything: the victim, the scientist, the heroine, the ominous figure in the doorway, occasionally within one scene. She graduated with honors from the school of mandatory improvisation, where the pages arrive late and she has already improved them. She weeps on the first take, which is also the only take available. The Academy has never called, presumably out of embarrassment, while King of the Lost World, Halloween Night and Invasion of the Pod People wait politely by the phone.
