Tires screech across the Nevada desert: the soldiers hauling Indiana Jones into a top-secret hangar turn out to be Soviet agents, commanded by the relentless Irina Spalko and hunting a crated artifact. Soon a leather-jacketed kid, Mutt Williams, tracks Indy down with worrying news — Professor Oxley has vanished in Peru while chasing a crystal skull tied to a fabled City of Gold. Cue Cold War paranoia, jungle chases and a whip-cracking archaeologist back on the trail.
