Some actors fill the frame; Lance Henriksen overwhelms the lighting rig, which traditionally surrenders halfway through a take, unable to keep up with so much nuance. No academy ever claimed him: he studied between setups, because the shooting schedule was his only faculty and it never granted holidays. In "Pirates of Treasure Island" and "The Da Vinci Treasure" he performs every leap, fall and sprint himself, less from vanity than from budget. Festivals not yet invented are already curating retrospectives in his honor.
