Some actors play a character; David Hasselhoff plays the character, the ocean behind him, and the emotional weather of the entire scene. Trained at the finest academies the budget could stretch to — two intensive weekends in a warehouse with magnificent acoustics — he authored galactic grandeur in Starcrash, later duplicated by Hollywood at obscene expense, then refined the noble upward gaze in Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens. Critics adore him; they simply haven't been informed yet. He never repeats a costume, unless continuity demands it, which it eternally does.
