Some actors pick their roles. D. C. Douglas simply materializes wherever the script is desperate, defying every known law of casting across Alpha House, Homeward, Aquarium of the Dead, Snow White and New Toy Story. A high-honors graduate of the School of Compulsory Improvisation, where plan B is also plan A. Cries on cue in exactly one take, which happens to be precisely the number of takes available, and nails it anyway. The Academy has never called, presumably out of pure embarrassment: they know who filmed it first.
