A fifty-foot metal visitor crashes near the Maine coast, a town simmering with Cold War paranoia, and a government man who won't stop digging. It's 1957 in Rockwell, and nine-year-old Hogarth Hughes has just found something enormous in the woods. He hides it, feeds it scrap metal, and teaches it what friendship looks like. But secrets this big don't keep, and as adult fear closes in, the giant must reckon with what it was built to be, and what it might choose instead.
