Aboard a cargo ship anchored in international waters, safely beyond anyone's jurisdiction, Dr. Michael Morbius injects himself with his own serum. A brilliant hematologist who has lived since childhood with a rare blood disorder, he has pinned his hopes on vampire bat DNA. The treatment works rather too well: strength, speed, senses no human should have, and a thirst no prescription covers.
