A civilization has stayed hidden beneath the ocean for thousands of years. Someone is about to find it. Milo Thatch, an overlooked young linguist and mapmaker, decodes an ancient journal that charts the route to Atlantis. One submarine. One crew of soldiers, diggers and specialists, each with private motives. Miles of crushing darkness, and something down there guarding the way. When Milo reaches the lost city, he finds a people clinging to survival, and a threat that came with him from above.
